FAQ’s on Cran-B-PAC® & Rejoice Plus®

Can Bladder Leaks Be Treated?

  1. Bladder leaks is also known as OAB or an overactive bladder that affects over 50 million Americans. OAB is not a disease yet a complex symptom of a non life-threatening condition. While there is no cure for OAB, there are many treatments available as well as dietary adjustments that can help improve bladder leaks. Prescription medications are available; however, they have many side effects that patients often stop taking the medication within 3 months. Rejoice® has no side effects and is easy to take with once a day dosing. With continued use of Rejoice Plus®, you will see improvement in about 6 weeks. Use Rejoice Plus® in conjunction with Kegel exercises and dietary changes to see maximum benefits.
  2. You should always check with your doctor prior to starting any new therapies as many things can lead to changes in bladder control. Constipation, changes in medication, weight gain, menopause, and general aging can be potential reasons for experiencing occasional urinary urgency and changes in daily bathroom routine.

What is a UTI? What are the Symptoms & Causes of UTIs?

  1. Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs) can occur in any part of the urinary tract: kidneys, bladder, or urethra. “UTIs typically occur when bacteria enter the urinary tract through the urethra and begin to multiply in the bladder.” E. coli is the most common bacteria that cause UTIs, which makes up about “85% of UTIs and 90% of cases of acute pyelonephritis.”  According to the National Institutes of Health, “UTIs are the most common outpatient infections in the United States (US). With the exception of a spike in young women aged 14−24 years old, the prevalence of UTIs increases with age.2 The prevalence in women over 65 years of age is approximately 20%, compared with approximately 11% in the overall population. Between 50% and 60% of adult women will have at least one UTI in their life, and close to 10% of postmenopausal women indicate that they had a UTI in the previous year.”
  2. Common Symptoms of UTIs include:
    • A strong, persistent urge to urinate
    • A burning sensation when urinating
    • Passing frequent, small amounts of urine
    • Urine that appears cloudy
    • Urine that appears red, bright pink or cola-colored — a sign of blood in the urine
    • Strong-smelling urine
    • Pelvic pain, in women — especially in the center of the pelvis and around the area of the pubic bone
  3. Your doctor may prescribe antibiotics for UTIs, taken up to 3x per day for a few days. However, if you experience frequent UTIs, your doctor my have you take a low-dose antibiotic for an initial 6 months or so. For a severe UTI, you may need treatment with intravenous antibiotics in a hospital. Antibiotics do have the risk of side effects, which may lead patients to stop taking them. Cran-B-PAC® does NOT contain bromelin, which is known to cause interactions with patients who are taking antibiotics, anticoagulants, and/or antiplatelet drugs.
  4. You should always check with your doctor prior to starting any new therapies as many things can lead to UTIs. Women are more prone to UTIs due to their urethra, which is shorter than a man’s urethra. Risk factors for UTIs may include: sexual activity and having a new sexual partner; women who use diaphragms for birth control may be at higher risk, as well as women who use spermicidal agents; and menopause.

proanthocyanidins (PAC) per BL-DMAC standard method.

  2. D-Mannose + Erythritol are natural sugars, which are excreted in the urine, help displace bacteria from attaching to the urinary tract wall & bladder.
  3. Vitamin C helps lower the pH of urine, making it more acidic thus creating a less tolerable environment for bacteria to grow.
  4. Prebiotic Inulin helps regulate the bowels and decreases constipation, thereby relieving the strain or pushing on the bladder which can increase leakage. If you are constipated, the intestines will have extra pressure on the bladder, resulting in more frequent urination and bladder leaks.

Rejoice Plus® is the first and only over-the-counter liquid supplement for overactive bladder for both men and women. Rejoice Plus® contains 5 all-natural, active ingredients that support the bladder for 24 hours, day and night.

  1. Hyperpure Pumpkin Seed Extract relaxes the muscles of the bladder wall and increases the capacity to hold urine. Pumpkin seed extract has an anabolic effect to help strengthen the pelvic floor and sphincter muscles.
  2. L-Citrulline & L-Arginine increases nitric oxide which causes muscle relaxation and increases the ability to hold urine. Nitric oxide helps the blood vessels to flow easier. As a result, it causes the muscles to relax and lower blood pressure so your body is not working as hard. These natural ingredients can be found in foods such as watermelon and chicken.
  3. Vitamin D3 increases pelvic floor muscle strength and efficiency; in addition to causing muscle relaxation and decreased contractibility. Vitamin D3 also supports healthy bones and muscle strength.
  4. Prebiotic Inulin helps regulate the bowels and decreases constipation, thereby relieving the strain or pushing on the bladder which can increase leakage. If you are constipated, the intestines will have extra pressure on the bladder, resulting in more frequent urination and bladder leaks.
